George Leslie Hutchings, 74, of Batesville passed away Tuesday March 12, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday evening, March 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 15,   at 11 a.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.

George was born June 27, 1949 in Marshall County to the late John Simon Lewis Hutchings and Rena Gertrude Feathers Hutchings. George was a farmer and enjoyed watching hummingbirds as well as hunting and fishing. George was a handyman who could fix anything. He loved watching and playing softball, but perhaps, the best way to describe him was a family man. George loved his wife, kids, and grandkids and will be remembered for his love of arguing with his grandkids and playing with his great-grands.
