South Panola students won’t return to class until March 18
South Panola School District informed teachers and staff at noon Friday that administrators have decided to delay the return to classes following Spring Break this week.
The following email was sent to SPSD employees:
South Panola School District schools and offices WILL BE CLOSED to students on Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17, in regards to the Coronavirus.
In addition, schools and offices will be closed to staff on March 16, but March 17 will serve as a professional development day for staff as schools and offices will be open that day for employees.
All athletics and extra-curricular activities are also canceled on March 16-17.
The South Panola School District will follow all guidelines provided by the Mississippi State Department of Health, Mississippi Department of Education, Mississippi High School Activities Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in regards to the virus and monitor all information provided from these agencies.
With this being a fluid situation, as new details are provided the District will disseminate pertinent information to our students, parents and employees.
