1980 – Here’s a view of Highway 6 looking west 40 years ago. The highway was soon to be widened to its current five lanes. The pine trees on the hill on the right stood where Yamato and Wendy’s restaurants are now located. In the distance on the dreary, drizzly day is Batesville Security Bank, now First Security Bank, is visible.
