Monica Sharee Burton, 34, of Como died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Baptist Desoto Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9 at 2 p.m. at Eenezer M. B. Church in Como. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Felix Cauthen Funeral Home who has charge of arrangements.

She was a homemaker and wife of Antonio Boyce of Como.

Jerry C. Henderson

Jerry C. Henderson, 61, of Coldwater died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Coldwater.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 10 at 2 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home in Sardis. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 9 at Henderson from 4 to 6 p.m.

He was born Nov. 16, 1956 in Sardis to the late Mary Lee Henderson.

Sarah Sullivant

Mrs. Sarah Packer Sullivant, 101, died Monday, June 4, 2018 at The Point at Kirby Gate in Memphis.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope.  Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville. 

She was born March 30, 1917 in Pope to the late Lillian Pickett and James J. Packer. Mrs. Sullivant was a member of Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Memphis and the Zonta International Professional Women’s Club. 

Eleanor Yager Pruitt

Eleanor Corinne Yager Pruitt, 90, of Como, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 31, 2018, in Ridgeland, Miss., after a brief illness.

Eleanor was born on April 15, 1928, in Moscow, Tenn., to Lonnie Ernest Yager, Sr., and Hattie Louise Malone Yager. After high school, Eleanor moved to Memphis, Tenn., where she met her beloved husband of 65 years, David Edwin Pruitt.

Eleanor was a resident of Como for 68 years where she was a member of the Como United Methodist Church. Eleanor was very active in the church and community. She especially enjoyed cooking, gardening, and playing bridge, and loved time spent with her family and many close friends.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Lonnie Ernest Yager, Jr., and sister Mary Louise Yager Womack.

She is survived by her children Karen Pruitt of Jackson, Miss., Edwin Pruitt (Judy), of Metairie, La., and Kenneth Pruitt (Pam) of Hayden, Ala.; grandchildren, Stephanie, David, Eli, and Walt Pruitt; sister Ann Yager Armfield Harvey of Cumming, Ga., and brother George Donald “Sonny” Yager of Winterville, Ga.

A memorial service will be held at the Como United Methodist Church, Main Street, Como, Saturday June 16, 2018, at 2 p.m., with visitation at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Como United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 277, Como, MS 38619, American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.

Demetric Wright

Demetric Lavon Wright, 38, of Dudley, N.C., formerly of Batesville, died Tuesday, June 5 in North Carolina.

Funeral services are set for Saturday, June 16 at Batesville Jr. High. at 2 p.m. An inspirational visitation will be held in Dudley, Saturday, June 9.
