Election season ending today

Panola voters should be able to complete ballots quickly today — as long as they have made their choices before they arrive at voting precincts.
Seven choices are offered for President and Vice-President of the United States.
In addition to the electors for Democrat nominees Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine or Republican nominees Donald Trump and Michael R. Pence, voters may choose from electors for Constitution Party candidates Darrell Castle and Scott N. Bradley, American Delta Party electors for “Rocky” Roque De La Fuente and Michael Steinberg, Prohibition Party electors for Jim Hedges and Bill Bayes, Libertarian Party electors for Gary Johnson and Bill Weld and Green Party electors for Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.
All county ballots will include the race for House of Representatives seat for the Second Congressional District where Democrat Bennie Thompson, the incumbent, faces a challenge from Republican John Bouie II, Reform Party candidate Johnny McLeod and independent Troy Ray.
Another race that will appear on all Panola County ballots is the nonpartisan judicial election for Supreme Court Justice, District 3, Position 1. John Brady, Bobby Chamberlain, Steve Crampton and James T. “Jim” Kitchens are seeking election to the post.
The nonpartisan judical election for Supreme Court Justice, District 3, Position 2, will also appear on Panola ballots. Jimmy Maxwell is unopposed for that position.
Panola ballots in the southern part of the county will include the Special Nonpartisan Judicial Election for the Court of Appeals 01, District 1, Position 1 where Jim Greenlee is unopposed.
In the northern part of Panola County, a contested race for the District 2 Court of Appeals 02, Position 2 pits incumbent Ceola James and Latrice Westbrooks.
Candidates for election commissioner in Panola’s five election districts are all unopposed.
Dorothy Kerney-Wilbourn is the candidate in Election Commission District 1; Julius Harris in Election Commissioner District 2, WayneBelk in Election Commissioner District 3, Wanda Lawrence Carmichael in Election Commissioner District 4 and Kaye Smythe in Election Commissioner District 5.
A contested race in South Panola School District 4 pits Mattie B. Spears against Leigh Taylor Patton Unruh for the post being vacated by Buddy Gray.
South Panola School District 4 includes the southeast portion of the county.
