ND boys ends season

The North Delta boys saw their season come to an end with a first round loss to the Colts Thursday night in the first round of the District 1-AAA basketball tournament.
  Peyton Neal and Alex Greenlee scored eight points each to lead the Green Wave in scoring with Cole Devazier and Avery Roland providing six points in the loss. Clifton Shivers led all scorers with 27 points while Nat Jones suppiled 21 points on five three-pointers.
 Bayou jumped out to a early 20-11 lead after one quarter before the Green Wave closed the margin to 24-18 early in the second quarter on Devazier three-pointer. The Colts responded with a 10-4 run as Shivers reeled off six straight points to close out the half with Bayou taking a 35-23 lead at the halftime break.
  The Colts blew the game open in the third quarter by out scoring North Delta 28-8. Shivers scored 11 points in the period with connecting on three treys. John Thomas Aycock provided eight points .
 Ely Bryant netted five points for North Delta with freshman Matt Burchfield chipping in with four. Nelson Howell contributed with two points while Joseph Wright finished with one point.

 The Lady Green Wave coasted into the simi-finals with a opening round rout of St.Joseph Thursday night. Ally Alford scored 27 points, all in the first half, to pace North Delta in victory.
  Sarah Johnson scored the first six points for North Delta (15-7) before the Fighting Irish got on the board. The Wave then reeled off the next 15 points to take a 21-2 lead after one quarter of play. Alford scored 14 points in the second quarter before going to the bench with 3:38 remaining before halftime as North Delta led 44-6.
Faith Bollinger followed with seven points with Johnson chipping in with six. Ginger Stephens and Hannah Bollinger five and four points each. Sayle Stennett scored three points with Payton Scott and Mary Emily Morris with two points each.
