Austin Towles gave up three runs on six hits in a six inning no decision as in Northwest Mississippi Community College 4-3 11-inning victory over East Mississippi Friday. The Rangers’ ( 33-17) season ended Saturday with a 9-1 loss to Hinds in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament in Eunice, La.

Towles finished his freshman season sporting a 4-2 record with a 3.05 ERA in 11 starts.

Amanda Ivy singled and drove in a run as Mississippi State (36-21) defeated Weber State Saturday in the Lafayette, La. region of the NCAA softball tournament. The Lady Bulldogs were later eliminated from the tournament by Baylor. Ivy hit .326 (44-135) on the season with five doubles, two triples, five home runs ands 38 RBI’s.

Chris Townsend  went 3-for-10 with two runs scored and three runs driven in as Central Arkansas ( 27-22; 16-14) took two of the games from McNeese State to close out the Southland Conference regular season.
