Copeland records first win
The Belhaven baseball team swept a doubleheader from Calumet College of St. Joseph on Tuesday evening, coming away with 16-7 and 12-7 victories.
Tuesday’s nightcap proved to be a back-and forth type of game, with Calumet-St. Joseph again scoring the first run. Ultimately, the final lead change came in the bottom of the seventh, when Belhaven broke a 7-7 tie on a 2-RBI single.
Starting pitcher Jacob Byrd lasted 2.2 innings before turning things over to the bullpen, and Jim Tom Copeland ended up recording his first win of the year.
