By Thursday the Gateway to the Delta 10-Miler and 5K Race had signed up over 330 participants, 280 for the 10-mile race alone.

“I bet we’ll have 360 by Saturday,” Chris Smith said.

Smith is a member of the sponsoring Batesville Rotary Club and also the Young Professionals of Panola (YPP) which is sponsoring the 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening Brews and Blues Craft Beer Tasting at the Wilbourn Building.

Tickets at the door for Brews and Blues will be $20, the same as advance tickets, Smith said.
Tickets for Gateway to the Delta runners are $10 and can be purchased during packet pickup at the Wilbourn Building or also at the door.

The 10-Miler will begin at 8 a.m. and the 5K shortly afterwards. The morning forecast predicts sunny skies with the thermometer hovering around 30 degrees at starting time, a temperature that most runners enjoy.
