Batesville mobilized admirably during the weekend to help convince C Spire that we are the best location to be first selected for fiber optic cable that will permit ultra high speed Internet.
We will find out on Nov. 5 how successful our efforts are, but there is plenty of time to register your support online. Here’s the link:

Alderman Eddie Nabors on Sunday night submitted Batesville’s response to C Spire’s Request For Information. Our response makes a good case for Batesville.
Other efforts will continue to help people realize the importance of signing up. (To be clear, “signing up” does not mean you are obligated to anything. You are just indicating that you believe it would be good for Batesville. When the ultra high speed Internet becomes available, then you will have the option of whether you want it for your home or business.)
You’ll be seeing door hangers promoting signup, and a video featuring Batesville will be produced to link to C Spire’s web site.

If you were listening Sunday afternoon to Mississippi Arts Hour on Mississippi Public Radio’s Mississippi Arts Hour, you heard an interview with Robert “Booma” Canon. Canon helped to found The Panola Playhouse. He has served on Mississippi Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts and served as Director of the San Antonio Arts Council.
