NPJH sweeps Quitman

The North Panola Jr. High teams made a statement with a double digit wins over the Quitman County Middle School teams Thursday night.

The Jr. High Lady Cougars defeated Quitman County 28-10 and the North Panola boys won 43-8.

In the girls game, North Panola led 10-2 at halftime. North Panola was led in scoring by Kityra Webb with nine points. Other scorers include Kiana Willingham, five points; Breanna Jenkins and Sha’Quanta Pettis, four points each; Daniesha Montgomery and LaErica Spann, three points each.

The Cougar boys led 25-2 at halftime.

Demetrick Porter led the Cougars in scoring with 12 points. Following with eight points was Jarvis Duncan. mScoring six points were Roderick Bobo, Ankeyvious Harris and Justin Conner. Rounding out the scoring were Dequarius Lee with three points and Vennis Mills with two points.

The Cougars will play at Independence Thursday beginning at 5 p.m.
