Mother nature played havoc this week on the North Delta fastpitch softball team as a pair of games against Indianola and Magnolia Heights were rained out.
The No. 3 ranked Lady Waves will have a busy week upcoming as they are scheduled to play six games next week starting Monday with a doubleheader against Indianola starting at 4 p.m. North Delta will then go on the road Tuesday to face off against No.1 ranked Bayou starting with the varsity game at 4 p.m. The Colts, (24-1), has defeated North Delta in all three meetings this season between the schools.
Following a trip Wednesday to Magnolia Heights, the Green Waves will return home Thursday in a non-district doubleheader against Greenville Christian starting a 4 p.m.
WV downs Pope

Pope Jr. High Bulldogs hosted Water Valley Tuesday night but fell to the Blue Devils 33-6.
Water Valley had a 27-0 lead going into the second half.
Pope’s lone score came after a fumble by Water Valley and recovery by Pope’s Octavius Smith on the Water Valley 15-yard line. Quarterback Bailey Lawrence scored on a quarterback keeper from three-yards out. The two-point conversion failed.
Water Valley went on to score one more touchdown in the second half, but missed the two-point attempt.
Pope will be back in action in Water Valley on September 29 at 5 p.m.

Sat., Sept. 12

Sat., Sept. 19
South Panola High School will hold a Tiger Fun Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tiger Field. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. Fans are invited to meet the Tiger team at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $2 for children 10 and under, $3 for 11 and older.
Sat., Sept. 26
The tryouts for the 16 and up Eclispe will be held on September 26 at 10:00 am at the South Panola Lady Tiger’s field. You may contact Coach Ashleigh Hicks for more details at 662-934-1133.
Thurs., Oct. 1
The Lady Tiger Fast Pitch Booster Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. on SPHS field to form for the coming year. It meets at least once a month to discuss softball issues. The fee to become a member will be $40 Contact Ashleigh Hicks or send your fees to SPHS.
