Northwest Mississippi Community College defensive end Chris Strong has been selected honorable mention All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Strong, a sophomore from Batesville, made an immediate impact on Northwest’s defense in his lone season at the school after transferring from Ole Miss.

Strong collected 45 tackles and four quarterback sacks this fall while leading the Rangers to a record of 6-4 and a berth in the state playoffs. Strong, who was also voted to the All-State and All-Region teams, had eight tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, and returned an interception 69 yards for a touchdown.
