By Brad Greer
The South Panola Tigers wrapped up the runner-up spot in Region 2-5A by taking a pair of games from Columbus Tuesday night.

In the first game, the Tigers rapped out 15 hits in a 18-3 five-inning romp over the Falcons. Joseph Blair led South Panola at the plate with a pair of doubles and a single. Monroe Harrison, Ethan Bright, and Whit Whitten each doubled and singled while David Renfroe doubled and homered. Tyler Benson added a single and triple for the winners. Renfroe hit a round tripper in both games while collecting six RBI’s on the night.

Colton Ales got the complete game victory on the mound by scattering four hits on the night to improve to 6-5 on the season. The senior left-hander got plenty of run support as the Tigers scored four runs in the first inning and seven each in the second and fourth innings to win going away.
