TAYLOR, Frank Jr.
    
COMO – Frank Taylor Jr., 53, died January 19, 2007, at his residence.
     Services were Saturday at St. James C.O.G.I.C. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.
     Taylor was a heavy equipment mechanic.
     Survivors include: one son, Richard Allen of Como; his father, Frank Taylor Sr. of Carutherville, Mo.; seven sisters, Evelyn Echols, Bertha Taylor, Dorothy Taylor, Mattie Taylor, Verlean Taylor and Idell Taylor, all of Como and Alycia Herron of Ponotoc; four brothers, Earnest Taylor of Como, James Taylor, Mack Taylor and Alden Glen Taylor, all of Memphis.


TAYLOR, Martin Dale
    
SLEDGE – Martin Dale Taylor, 47, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at his residence.
     Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Cedar Grove M.B. Church in Sardis. Burial will be in Cedar Grove M.B. Church Cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia has charge.
     Survivors include: two daughters, Marteena Taylor and Markysha Taylor, both of Sardis; his mother, Lula Taylor of Como; three sisters, Ruby Dandridge of Como, Joann Ford of Batesville, Gail Carter of Sardis; four brothers, Clarence Taylor of Cordova, Herbert James Tayor of Southaven, Paul Taylor of Crenshaw and Billy Joe Taylor of Memphis.THOMAS, Kenneth
    
SARDIS – Kenneth Thomas, 46, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in a fire in his residence.
     Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Morris Chapel M.B. Church in Sardis. Burial will be in the Morris Chapel M.B. Church cemetery. Eddie Robinson and Son Funeral Home has charge.
     Thomas, born Dec. 27, 1961, in Sardis, to the late Isaac Thomas and the late Velma Williams Thomas, graduated from North Panola High. He was employed with BLR Enterprises in Sardis as a warehouse worker.
     Survivors include: three brothers, Isaac Thomas and Ricky Thomas, both of Sardis and Ronnie Thomas of Crenshaw and three sisters, Joyce A. Sheare and Sherry Washington, both of Sardis and Leona Buchanan of Memphis.

THORNBURG, Earlene
    
BATESVILLE – Earlene Thornburg, 83, died Friday, February 16, 2007, at her residence.
     Services were Sunday at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, Ala. Derrick Simmons and Terry Floyd officiated. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home had charge.
     Thornburg, born April 3, 1923, in Baton Rouge, La. to the late Claude and Mary Lou King Smith, was a homemaker and a member of First Faith Baptist Church.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thornburg, three brothers and two sisters.
     Survivors include: her daughter, Martha Dye of Batesville; two sons, Robert Harold Thornburg and James Edward Thornburg of Batesville; three sisters, Verlon Ozbirn of Red Bay, Ala., Mary Zell Presley of Golden and Vera Jeanell Allen of Batesville; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.


TIDWELL, Preston D. Sr.
    
BATESVILLE – Preston D. Tidwell Sr., 91, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
     Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at Dickins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be today 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Dickins Funeral Home has charge.
     Tidwell, born Sept. 4, 1915, to the late Will and Olivia Barnett Tidwell, was a retired farmer and a member of Pilgrims Rest Church.
     Survivors include: one son, Preston Tidwell Jr. and wife Doris of Batesville; two grandchildren, Preston Davis Tidwell III and Galen Maurice Tidwell; five great-grandchildren, Bryan Tidwell, Christy Tidwell, Melissa Crockett, Justin Crockett and Lauren Tidwell and five great-great-grandchildren, Terry Tidwell, Katlyn Tidwell, Hunter Crockett, Rebecca Tidwell and Allison Crockett.


TOWLES, Lodiestean
    
SARDIS – Lodiestean Towles, 83, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
     Services were Saturday at Moore-Nowell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kenny Adair officiated. Burial was in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. Moore-Nowell Funeral Home had charge.
     Towles, born to the late James Rudolph and Sara Schwalenberg, was a homemaker.
     She was preceded in death by her husband Lester W. Towles; one daughter and two sisters.
     Survivors include: one son, Lester Wade Towles of Memphis; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.


TUGGLE, Dora
    
TUNICA – Dora Tuggle, 103, died Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at the Tunica Nursing Home. She was the aunt of Rebecca Banks of Como who cared for her.
     Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hunters Chapel M.B. Church in Como. Burial will be in Hunters Chapel Church Cemetery. Pate-Jones Front Street Chapel of Senatobia has charge.
     Survivors along with her niece include: her sister, Jennie Lue Milton of Tunica; three grandsons; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.


TURNER, Charlie "Tiny"
    
BATESVILLE – Charlie "Tiny" Turner, 61, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
     Services were Sunday at First Assembly of God. Rev. Randy Turner and Rev. David Olsenton officiated. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
     Turner, born April 24, 1945, to the late Charlie Wilburn and Mildred Eloise Shelton Turner, was a factory employee.
Survivors include: three sisters, Callie Elizabeth Winters of Enid, Missy Turner Woods and Skip Turner Hearn, both of Sardis and one brother, Douglas McArthur Turner of Rural Retreat, Va.


TURNER, Delrica
    
BATESVILLE – Delrica Turner, 23, died Friday, January 5, 2007.
     Services are Friday at 2 p.m. at Springhill A.S.A. M.B. Church in Courtland. Rev. Louis Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Springhill A.S.A. Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
     Turner, born July 12, 1983, in Sardis to Robbie Phillips of Courtland and Katie Turner of Batesville, was a member of Antioch M.B. Church.
     Survivors along with his parents include: two sisters, Kellsey Turner and Toya Turner, both of Batesville; one brother, Robbie Phillips Jr. of Courtland and his grandparents, Edward and Janie Turner, both of Batesville, and Madie Phillips of Courtland.


TYREE, Annette Wilson
    
SARDIS – Annette Wilson Tyree, 62, died Thursday, February 15, 2007, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
     Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hebron Baptist Church in Sardis. Burial will be in Hebron Baptist Cemetery. Visitation is today 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Moore-Nowell Funeral Home. Moore-Nowell Funeral Home has charge.
     Tyree was a homemaker and a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
     She was preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Morgan Tyree.
     Survivors include: her husband, Fred Tyree of Sardis; one son, Jeffery B. Tyree of Wyatte; one sister, Judy M. Bumpas of Hernando; two brothers, Robert Allen Wilson Jr. of Sardis and William Franklin Wilson of Batesville and two grandchildren.
