A suspected electrical fire in a storage shed claimed a life on Court Street in Sardis on Saturday, March 1.

There were few details available at press time on Tuesday, but investigators in the Panola County Sheriff’s Office said foul play is not thought to be the cause.

Officials were unable to determine the identity of the body recovered from the blaze, or even determine if the corpse was that of a man or woman.

The deceased was sent to Jackson for an autopsy.
