The world is full of chaotic places, full of heartache and uncertainty. Life after feels like a hollow castle, with the highs and lows coming at women faster than our hearts can bear.

We continue to press on to a higher calling in Jesus Christ. Mothers are few and between, it’s hard work, if you are not up for the challenge pass it on.

Mother Fannie Diggs and her husband (deceased) had 16 children, she will tell y’all quickly she brought them up in the church, and she prayed with them daily. The lady is very strong in her daily walk with Christ. She has been a strong advocate in her community of Crowder.

Her neighbors call her blessed. During this time in her life, her health is declining. I am encouraged by her stamina, as she continues to press her way. She’s not one to pull back on the range as long as she has the life she will continue with her gift of teaching.

Mother Delisha Griffin, in her quest to be in the service of the Lord, drives to Batesville from Memphis to fellowship at the church (Deliverance Tabernacle) at least once or twice a month. These mothers are in their eighties. She helps seniors who cannot drive, and who need assistance.

Many envy her independent spirit. She will tell you, God, is the glory in everything she does.

Mother Edna Joyner was hit with a debilitating illness that took her off her job, which forced her into early retirement. Through her pain, she has shown us the persistence to press her way. She’s living proof you can walk through your pain with faith in God.

He loves to restore and rebuild. His word is the only final word in our lives. When I see her come down the aisle with her helper (rolling walker) I know God is real, these mothers are strong in the faith, they have raised children, and been in the lives of grandchildren, great and great with patience and lots and lots of love.

Children are a gift from the Lord, remember we are aging daily with our eyes on the prize. So many of our children are lost in the wilderness of knowing the love of Mother. That is why so many look for love in the wrong places.

Love is shown every minute of the day, not once a year. If you have someone in your life, who has shown that gift that no one can take away, let them be the recipient of your love.

P.S. The man who cut the wood out of the roadway after the tornados was Mr. James Yates of the New Enon Community.
