Juan Alberto Vazquez Martin, 38, passed away Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Saturday, Oct. 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Batesville. The family of Juan will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home following the Mass on Saturday. The burial will be at Panteon Jardines Eternos in Jalisco, Mexico at a later date.

Juan was born on March 14, 1983, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to Bertha Alicia Martin Silvestre and Alberto Vazquez Chaves. He was a waiter at Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant in Batesville for 16 years. His family, friends, and co-workers will miss him deeply. The customers of Mi Pueblo will miss his quick wit and kindness.

The family he leaves behind includes his wife, Ofelia Olmeda Solorzano de Vazquez; his three children, Yoana Lizeth Vazquez Olmeda, Paloma Anyelin Vazquez Olmeda, and Juan Alberto Vazquez, Jr.; his parents, Bertha Alicia Martin Silvestre and Alberto Vazquez Chaves.
