James Coker, 75, passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 12, 2021, at his home in Shaw.

A graveside service was held  Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville. The family received friends at Wells Funeral Home prior to the service.

JC was born May 1, 1946, to the late Corbett Layfayette Coker and Lula Elenora Goodwin Coker in Batesville. JC was a carpenter by trade and a supervisor for Frame Picture. He was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time, JC enjoyed squirrel hunting and fishing.  He could often be found sitting on the porch bird watching. JC also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.

The family he leaves behind who will miss him most includes his children, Christie Coker Tolbert (Bill) of Shaw, Michael James Coker of Lafayette, LA.; one sister, Maxine Chrestman of Oxford; and one grandchild, Lula Paislie Tolbert.
