Daniel Rowland,  85, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, at  Panola Medical Center in Batesville.

Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 3,  at 2 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow at Black Jack Cemetery in Batesville. The family received friends Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home.

Daniel was born on July 23, 1936, to the late Tom Rowland and Rener Winter Rowland in Marks. He worked for the City of Oxford in the Sanitation Department. Daniel was a devoted minister in the Pentecostal faith and loved to spread the gospel and read the bible. He also loved spending time with all of his grandchildren and working in the yard.

The family he leaves behind includes his wife, Bessie Mae Rowland of Batesville; his children, Towanda Taylor of Pope, Robby Rowland of Hernando,  Raymond Rowland of Batesville,  Jimmy Willard of Water Valley,  Robert Willard of Batesville, and Sidney “Dago” Willard of Tremont; one sister, Claudie Acree; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by three children, Bobby Gene Rowland, Darnell Stinson, and Fairy Dillard; twin sister, Annie Bee Moore; sister, Mattie Mae Cranford, Maudie Rowland; brothers, James, Allen, and JR. Rowland.
