Norma Francis Garrison, 90, passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Sardis.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Frances was born on Feb. 5, 1931, to the late Fletcher Claude Alewine and Dolly Ophelia Ragon Alewine in Pope. She was a retired sales clerk from Evelyn’s in Greenwood and a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church in Greenwood. After retirement, Frances enjoyed going to yard sales and setting up for “trade days” in Sardis.

She also enjoyed thrift shopping and buying clothes for her grandchildren, whom she adored. She loved being outdoors, flowers all of kind, and listening gospel music. Frances was strong in her faith, and believed strongly in the power of prayer.

Her precious memory will be remembered and cherished by her three children, Rose Matthews (Rusty) of Carrollton, Diane McCaleb (Ben Sr.) of Carrollton,  and Gary Garrison of Coldwater; one sister, Ann Hudspeth of Senatobia; one brother, Stevie Alewine of Batesville; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Alton Ray Garrison; two sons, Alvis Ray Garrison and Michael Eugene Garrison; two infant children, and 8 siblings.

The family would like to thank Kara White, FNP for being Ms. Frances’ primary caretaker for all that she has done for Francis over the last 20 years.
