Dorothy F. Mixon, 90, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at the Pinnacle Assisted Living in Oxford. She was the widow of Mr. Hugh Mixon.

Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 13, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment at Forrest Memorial Park. The family received friends two hours prior to the service beginning.

Dorothy was born on Feb.  5, 1931, to the late Riley and Mertice Cook Ford in Water Valley. She was a factory worker at BorgWarner Inc. and member of the Camp Ground Baptist Church in Water Valley.

She enjoyed cooking and watching gameshows on television. Dorothy also had a special love for her furry companion, “Fluff”.

The family she leaves behind includes her two sons, Mark Mixon (Tammy) of Courtland, and Randy Mixon of Smyrna, TN; one sister, Kay Mettetal of Sardis; one brother, M.J. “Sonny” Ford of Courtland; 5 grandchildren, Everett Mixon, Mallory Woods, Merideth Mixon, Katelyn Mixon, and Kristian Mixon; and 5 great grandchildren, Rylee Mixon, Wyatt Mixon, Daxton Kelly, James Wade Kelly, and Emma Woods.

Along with her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Mixon; one son, Ronnie Mixon; one sister, Julia Thompson; and three brothers, Bobby Ray Ford, Billy Ford, and Boyd Ford.
