Edward “Eddie” Schwinn,  73, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Funeral services for Eddie will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at Bethany Baptist Church in Courtland . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at the Bethany Cemetery.

Eddie was born on Dec.  25, 1947, to the late Amos Howard Schwinn and Mary Alice Taylor Schwinn in Mt. Holly, New Jersey.  He was a retired factory production engineer/manager who enjoyed woodworking and was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church. Eddie and his wife Becky had a love for kids and were foster parents to many children later in life.

He was also known for his abundant kindness and truly had a servant’s heart who would do anything for anyone and would give you the shirt off his back no matter his own situation.

Eddie’s kind heart will be mostly missed by his wife, Becky Morrow Schwinn of Courtland; one daughter, Vicki Schwinn Wolfe (Chris) of Courtland, three sons, Rodger Schwinn, Jr. (Christy) of Batesville, Andrew (Grace) Schwinn of Batesville, and Mark Schwinn of Courtland; two sisters, Shirley Sanders of Pontotoc and Casey Thornton (Gerald) of Bartlett, TN; two brothers, Chuck Schwinn (Dorothy) of Water Valley and Grady Pearson (Angie) of Mt. Sterling, KY; 8 grandchildren, Austin Wolfe, Tori Beth Wolfe, Logan Schwinn, Matthew Schwinn, Nathan Schwinn, Hannah Schwinn, Reed Schwinn, and Sophie Schwinn.

Along with his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Baldwin and Bonnie Schwinn; and one brother, Joe Schwinn.
