Prayer observers from the National Day of Prayer Northwest Mississippi have been meeting at that park for the past 26 years. They will, however, continue to pray for the leaders of the state, cities, and nation on May 7, at  noon.

Using Facebook, NWMS regional coordinator Cynthia Todd will host the event, and once again, Marni McKenzie of Batesville will be the program’s speaker.

McKenzie will speak on the importance of knowing the Word of God and how it shapes and activates much-needed prayers in times of crisis. McKenzie has led Explorer’s Bible Study for more than 40 years and has written many of the lessons, and is often asked to speak to Christian groups.

The Facebook site can be found under National Day of Prayer Northwest Mississippi.
