Greater Impact has invited the pubic to attend its 2nd Inner School Tournament being held at The Grace Place, 209 Petit Street, in Batesville this Saturday, March 7.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. Organizers said tournament is an opportunity for the public, and The Grace Place supporters, to see the positive changes in the lives of children that participate in the program.

Greater Impact and #Team Chapman is a church based community outreach program that is catered to youth, originally started in Milwaukee by Pastor Willie Chapman Sr. in 1998.

Pastor Chapman started an after school program within his church to battle against the dangers of inner city Milwaukee. He used Karate and Martial Arts to instill discipline and build character into the kids of the Greater Impact church and surrounding neighborhoods.

Also through this program, the kids involved became skilled in Martial Arts and through the years, Pastor Chapman have trained up six black belts in karate including all of his sons.

Chapman was born and raised in Batesville, and a few years ago decided to move back from Wisconsin. He has partnered with First Baptist Church and The Grace Place of Batesville and on April 16, 2019, Greater Impact MS Karate Do held its first class at The Grace Place.

Greater Impact MS Karate Do is led by Head Martial Arts Instructor Tertius Chapman, and Head Fitness Instructor Willie Donnell Chapman Jr. The two, with help from their father,  are using martial arts and fitness to help bring positive change and positive reinforcement to families in Batesville and surrounding areas.
