Dear Editor,

In Galatians 6:2 it states we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. We must serve others and in doing so we can help carry their burdens.

When you carry a person’s burden you are lifting that person up. This is God’s (The Shepherd) way of sustaining his sheep. He lifts their burdens. Yes, this verse is just a small fraction of how God helps in times of need and when He walks with us and when He carries us.

My family’s burdens have been lifted immensely by asking for God’s help since the death of Suzanne Crawly on Jan. 1, 2020.

This was extremely sudden and untimely. I’m the one that had to break the horrible news and had asked the Lord for wisdom, courage, strength, and knowledge at the time. He never hesitated. I told Him this family needed Him to lift us up. The Lord did just that.

Neighbors came with food, prayers, and flowers. First Baptist Church of Oxford, First Baptist Church of Batesville, First Baptist Church of Sardis, New Prospect Baptist Church, all went above and beyond.

There were an abundance of calls, text messages, voicemails, cards, gifts, monetary gifts to charities and churches, letters, drawings from children’s Sunday School classes and much more.

Wells Funeral Home gave us a top quality memorial service. Sheriff’s departments in various counties. The family would also like to thank Dale Copeland Jeweler for their kindness.

We would like to thank Mrs. Barbara Reynolds from the Oxford Eagle and Mr. Jeremy Weldon from The Panolian in Batesville for being so helpful and kind during our situation. We also appreciate the Water Valley newspaper for their work.

This is written on behalf of all of Suzanne’s family. We are truly blessed and thankful to have had Suzanne for 40 wonderful years. Thank you again for being a part of her celebration of life.
