Part two of the South Panola-North Panola friendly basketball rivalry concluded Tuesday in Batesville with teams earning a split.

In the opening game, the South Panola Lady Tigers jumped out to a 22-2 first quarter lead before cruising to a 70-28 victory.

Takyra Webster led the way with 19 points as every Lady Tiger got into the scoring column. Bailey Ware hit three three-pointers and finished with 10 points.

Nahriah Connor and Crystal Mayes followed with eight points as Aziyah McGhee provided seven.Other scorers included Ladayshia Robinson (4 points) McGheyla Patton, Janasha McKenney and Makiya Barksdale (3 points), Alexis Hamilton and Teddera Patton (2 points), and Kiersten Clark with one point.

North Panola (7-12) was led in scoring by Nia Taylor with nine points. Kiyah Cooper followed with four while Sherry Connor and Paris Farmer added three  each.

The South Panola boys were looking to break a nine-game losing streak and led 34-27 with four minutes remaining in the game before the Cougars went on a 13-1 run to complete the come-from-behind victory.

North Panola (14-8) was led in scoring by Cedquavious Hunter’s 15 points while Tony Davis contributed with 12 which included the go-ahead layup with 1:57 left on the clock.

Ankerion Gross provided six points for the Cougars which as won its fourth game in a row. Eric Williams chipped in with three with Carl Robinson and Dee Brown finishing with two points each.

Isaac Sturdivant lead the way for South Panola with 12 points while Ja’Tavion Hicks finished with 10. Stanwon Porter and Keitron Jones provided five each as Isaiah Sanford, Christion Bobo and Jayden Smith rounded out the scoring with one point apiece.

South Panola hosts Starkville tonight at 6 p.m while North Panola travels to Holly Springs in a division tilt also at 6 p.m.
