Mississippi State University has teamed with Ford Motor Company to sponsor a tour of the state with the Golden Egg, won by the Bulldogs in Starkville Thanksgiving night. Bulldog fans were invited to see the trophy and have pictures taken with Bully when the tour came through Batesville from 11 a.m. to 12:30 Friday. Hallmark Ford hosted the event in the dealership’s showroom, and served plates of smoked sausage with cheese, and cookies and drinks.

STARKVILLE – The Golden Egg trophy will once again be making its way around the state of Mississippi in celebration of Mississippi State’s triumph in the 92nd Battle for the Golden Egg. Bulldog fans will have the opportunity to see the trophy in person at various businesses, public appearances and even in their homes from Nov. 30-Dec. 9 as part of the Golden Egg Tour 2019 presented by Mississippi Ford Dealers.

Fans are encouraged to tweet using #GoldenEggTour and post why the famed Golden Egg trophy and Bully should make a stop in their homes and cities. Fans chosen will be able to take photos inside their homes with Bully and the trophy. Each home stop will receive a custom photo frame magnet.

The unique tour can be followed on @HailState social accounts and at HailState.com/goldeneggtour. Complete tour stops will be unveiled on each of these platforms.

State (6-6) claimed the Golden Egg trophy for the second straight year and the third time in four years with a thrilling 21-20 victory on Thanksgiving night. The win over rival Ole Miss extended the Bulldogs’ school-record bowl streak to 10 consecutive seasons, joining Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M as the only five schools to reach a bowl every season this decade (2010-19).

MSU, winners of three of its last four games, will learn of its bowl destination on the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 8. Ticket pre-orders are being accepted for season ticket holders now. For more information visit HailState.com/bowltickets. The priority order deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. If tickets remain after the priority pre-order deadline, public ticket sales will begin after the bowl announcement, and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Golden Trophy has made stops in Jackson, Taylorsville, Laurel, Biloxi, Pascagoula, Natchez, Cleveland, Greenwood, Tupelo and Batesville. The tour will wrap up Monday at the Ford dealer in Starkville.
