Longtime City Hall employee Beverly Pope is now the court clerk, and Mallorye Moore will serve as her assistant. Both were voted to the posts by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen in the council’s September meeting.

On hand for the ceremony was City Clerk Susan  Berrryhill, assistant clerk Shonnah Weaver, and Batesville Police detective secretary Tracy Hopper.

“These ladies recently attended a Municipal Court Clerk fall training on the Coast, and although these positions can be difficult on daily situations I have all the confidence that they will handle it as a team effort with a willingness to serve the citizens of the City of Batesville,” Berryhill said.

Pope has worked for the City 24 years, and Moore was hired about a year ago when former Court Clerk Rene Hubbard informed the city board she would soon retire. Berryhill made the recommendations last month.
