Lady Wave softball season wraps up

The North Delta Lady Green Wave fast pitch softball team saw their season come to an end at the North 3A State tournament Saturday at Lee Academy.

North Delta dropped the first game of the double elimination format with a 7-2 loss to Central Holmes. Isabella Morrow paced the Lady Wave offensively with a double and single.

Gracie Tutor and Ally Alford produced singles while Paizlee Woods drove in a run. Woods and Tutor threw three innings each in the pitching circle.

North Delta then lost to Indianola 4-3 in a losers bracket contest. The Lady Wave out-hit Indianola 8-5 as McKinna Smith led the way with a double and single.

Millie Clark, Tutor and Breck Brewer doubled while Morrow added a two-run single in the top of the seventh. Woods also supplied a single. Lindy Ward scored a run in a pinch-running role.

Alford led North Delta (7-11) with a .434 batting average followed by Morrow at .404 and a team-high 24 RBI’s. Clark was third on the team with a .357 average.
