North Delta Baseball faces Oak Hill Monday

Bayou Academy wrapped up a playoff birth in District 1-AAA  with a double header sweep of North Delta Tuesday at Green Wave Field.

The Colts rode the one-hit pitching of Brett Burrell in a 14-0 five-inning game in the opener before taking the nightcap 8-5.

Brandon Henson accounted for the lone North Delta hit with a first inning single while Burrell struck out six and did not allow a runner past second base after the first inning.

Zack Dugger took the pitching loss for the Wave by going three innings before being relieved by Drake Barton for the final two frames.

The second game saw North Delta (6-14) take a early 1-0 in the first as Dugger drew a bases loaded walk to force in Eli Robb who had singled to lead of the inning.

The scored remained that way until the third when Bayou put up three runs on five hits off Green Wave starting hurler Luke Noah.

The Colts added to their margin with two more runs in the fourth to make the score 5-1. North Delta pulled within one at 5-4 after five innings of play before Bayou put the game away with three runs in the sixth.

Henson paced North Delta with three singles while Ian Cole added a RBI double and single. Lige Simmerman supplied two singles while Hunter Houston added  a double.

Robb added a single and scored two runs while Dugger drove in two runs on two walks.

North Delta will close out the season Monday at Oak Hill Academy.
