Jr. High baseball improves to 15-5

The Batesville Junior High Tigers improved to 15-5 on the season,sweeping a doubleheader 8-7 and 5-1 at Senatobia Thursday.

The Tigers held off a late four-run Warrior rally to take game one 8-7. Michael Johnson drove in three runs with a triple and two singles.

Baylor Scammon added three singles and also drove in two runs.

Mack Boyette, Brayden Martin and Aiden Williams added singles in the victory. Brock Ware also accounted for two runs driven in.

Game two saw Batesville score five runs in the third that erased a 1-0 deficit. Johnson led the way with a home run while Dillon Phelps, Scammon, Martin, Boyette and Cam Moore delivered singles.

Tripp Sergi added a walk in the game. Scammon and Daniel Moore pitched one inning each for the Tigers.

Batesville hosted Lafayette County Monday and will travel to Oxford to take on the Commodores today at 5 and 7 p.m to close out the season.
