The North Delta tennis team picked up its first win of the season with a 5-4 victory over Lee Academy Thursday at Trussell Park.

Colin Hartman took the No.1 boys singles match with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Lee’s Shane Griffin while Matthew Woods eased to a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the other boys singles match.

Walt Miller and Nishika Patel came away with a victory in the mixed doubles tilt, losing the first set 4-6 before winning the second 6-2 and the tie breaker.

The boys doubles duo of Layton Wells and Ben Rowsey won by forfeit as did the No. 2 boys team of Ben Fly and Riley Melton.

The Green Wave hosts Indianola today at 3:30 p.m. in its final home match of the season before visiting Bayou Thursday also at 3:30 p.m.
