“Batesville is a wonderful community, and we truly appreciate the generous support of area shoppers and donors here,” said Goodwill President & CEO Tony Martini. “Goodwill is focusing on ways to strengthen our store and donation center networks in Tennessee and Mississippi now and in the future. As retail trends change, this is requiring us to make adjustments in some of our locations, but we hope to continue to serve the people of Batesville and Panola County with the Hwy. 6 donation center and our other near-by stores.”

Goodwill’s Batesville donation center will remain in operation, open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. After the Batesville store closes, the nearest Goodwill store location will be in Oxford,  located at 2540 Jackson Ave. W. Their hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Three Goodwill employees will stay at the Batesville donation center; Goodwill will offer other positions in the Goodwill network to the four store employees.

As part of the closing, Goodwill will show its appreciation to the Batesville community with a 75 percent off sale on all store merchandise March 11-18. Shoppers and donors visiting the Batesville store will also receive a 25 percent off coupon to use for purchases in the Oxford store  through April 20.
