The following cases were heard in Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday, Jan. 23, with Judge Jay Westfaul presiding.

Ricky R. Mask, 6317 Hwy. 6 East, Batesville, pleaded guilty to public drunkeness and was fined $225.

Jody L. Smith, 985 Dry Brayer Rd., Lambert, failed to appear on charges of possession of paraphernalia, expired tag and no proof of insurance. An arrest warrant was issued.

Jeremy L. Mills, 64 East Long St., Abbeville, pleaded not guilty to possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. A trial was set.

Devan S. Gordon, PR 3151 Apt. 4, Oxford, pleaded not guilty to possession of marijuana.

Joe F. Mosley, Jr. 445 Sanders Rd., Sardis, had a charge of trespassing dismissed due to the lack of prosecution but was fined $2,195 for non-payment of old fines.

William C. Dillon, 218 Gordon Dr., Batesville, had a simple assault charge dismissed due to lack of prosecution.

Michael S. Phillips, 147 Bellwood Dr., Pineville, La., failed to appear on a shoplifting charge.

Haley D. Potts, 2061 Bell Rd., Courtland, failed to appear on charges of possession of paraphernalia, shoplifting and trespassing. An arrest warrant was issued.

Janice M. Johnson, 174 Frederick Cove, Courtland, was found guilty of shoplifting and was fined $1,146 due in 30 days.

April J. Burney-Partridge, 585 Perkins St., Crowder, had a charge of shoplifting continued.

Tracy L. Barksdale, Sr. had a charge of contempt of court continued.

Eric D. Mitchell, 755 Central Academy Rd., Batesville, had a charge of contempt of court charge continued.

Jeremy J .Cox, 194-A Fogg Rd., Batesville, pleaded guilty of contempt of court for non-payment of old fines totaling $306.

Alyssa Cotton, 499 Sarah Dickens Rd., Sardis, pleaded guilty of non-payment of old fines totaling $461.

Willie L. Hunt, 805 College Hill, Apt. 77, Sardis, pleaded guilty to running a stop sign and failure to pay old fines all totaling $557 due in 30 days.

Taneshia J. Young, 2791 Shiloh Rd., Batesville, pleaded guilty to speeding and non-payment of old fines all totaling $1,623 due in 30 days.

Reginald D. Henderson, 9718 Hwy. 5, Courtland, had a charge of felony shoplifting bound over to the grand jury.

Johnathan M. Ragan, 3367 Atkins Rd., Batesville, had charges of public drunkenness and two counts of possession of a controlled substance bound over to the  grand jury.

In cases set for trial:

Tykia Bradford, 315 Mt.Olivet Rd., Batesville, was found not guilty of simple assault.

Xavier Bailey, 6091 Barnacle Rd., Sardis, was found guilty of trespassing and disorderly conduct and was given one-year probation.

Jennifer N. Baker, 10 3151Rd., Apt.12, Oxford, had a case of simple possession of marijuana remanded to the files.
