Batesville Police are investigating a burglary on Deaton St. that left a family without some of its presents already wrapped and waiting for Christmas Day.

Police said the occupant of the house was away Saturday night and returned Sunday to find the kitchen blinds up. She said someone had entered the house overnight and seven wrapped gifts were missing from under the tree in the living room.

The victim told police the gifts had a value of about $300. Officers were able to find a good footprint from outside the window that did not belong to a family member.
