The North Panola Junior High basketball teams traveled to Independence Monday and came away with two wins.

In the girls contest, Tyrah Jones garnered 12 points as the Lady Cougars blew out Independence 35-8.

Jykeria Black added 11 points while Constance Burnette chipped in with six. Shanniyah Brown, Jakella Patterson and Shakyra Smith all provided two points in the winning effort.

The boys matchup proved to be much closer as the Cougars prevailed 47-42 with Jakeen Bowdery leading the way with 17 points.

Den’quarryious Robison followed with 11 while Anterrious Harrell and Jamarion Mays garnered seven points each. Nictation Garrett finished with five in the winning cause.

North Panola hosts South Panola Monday starting at 5:30 p.m.
