North Delta opens district play

The North Delta Green Wave basketball teams opened up District 1-AAA play  splitting four games at Indianola Academy Tuesday.

Breck Brewer poured in 16 points to lead the junior high Lady Waves to a 50-36 victory. Paizlee Woods and Libby Miller also reached  double figure scoring with 12 and 10 points.

Shelby Grace Boone added seven while Sophie Williams and Emily Wells finished with three and two points each.

The Green Wave junior high boys lost a tough 40-39 verdict to the Colonels.No scoring was reported.

In varsity action, the Indianola boys got past North Delta 62-48 despite a 15 point effort from Chris Burchfield. Colin Hartman added 12 while Walt Miller chipped in with 11 points.

Ryan Gibson and Drake Barton garnered five points each for the 2-7 Green Wave.

The Lady Waves meanwhile improved to 8-4 overall with a 54-41 win over Indianola. Ally Alford led three scorers in double figure scoring with 16 points.

Hannah Bollinger supplied 13 points while sister Faith added 10. Boone chipped in with five points as Sayle Stennett and Sydney Tally contributed with four each. Isabella Morrow closed out the scoring with one point.

North Delta remains on the road today as the visit Marshall Academy beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The Green Wave varsity goes to Leake tomorrow (Dec. 8) for a 3 p.m tip-off.
