Rudd earns rifle’s gold medallion

The South Panola rifle team competed in two matches over the last three weeks.
They traveled to Port Clinton, Ohio, and competed in the All Service World Championship in a three-day match. Fifty-six teams qualified and were invited.
South Panola finished 22nd. Recently, they hosted the Mississippi Junior Olympic 3-position State Championship and won.
South Panola entered two teams and claimed the first two places.
This qualifies the team for an invitation to the National Junior Olympic Match in June.

South Panola’s Nick Rudd earned his Distinguished Gold Medallion during the All Service championship awards banquet.

During the All Service Championship, Nick Rudd qualified for the National Distinguished Gold Medallion and was awarded his medallion number 1187 at the awards banquet. This places Nick among the elite Junior shooters in the country.
South Panola finished third at the Civilian Marksmanship program Southeast Regional Championship Rifle Match. Thirty-three of the best scholastic and club rifle teams in the southeast region competed at Anniston, Ala.
On the line at this match was an invitation to the CMP National Championship Match at Camp Perry, Ohio, in late June. South Panola earned its fifth consecutive invitation. Leading South Panola was Kayla Walker who finished sixth out of 283 competitors.
