The South Panola School District received an early Christmas present when it was given the keys to the newly constructed Batesville Elementary School kindergarten wing earlier today (Dec. 9).
Construction was deemed “substantially complete” by architect Gary Bailey and kindergarteners will begin the second semester in the new building. Additional information regarding traffic flow and other pertinent details will be released in the near future.
The community is invited to attend an open house on Thursday (Dec. 15) from 4-6 p.m. to tour the new wing and become more acquainted with the building.
“We are certainly excited about the completion of the kindergarten wing and are looking forward to starting the new year in the building,” South Panola School District Superintendent Tim Wilder said.
In addition to the kindergartners returning to the BES campus, Batesville Middle School fifth-graders will return to BMS at the start of the second semester.
An open house for the fifth-grade students and their parents is planned for Jan. 10 from 4-5:30 p.m.
