Holiday parades continue tonight
Almost 90 entries are expected for tonight’s Batesville Christmas Parade, according to Mark Shields of Enid Lake Baptist Church, coordinator of the event.
The theme is “Christmas is Because of Christ.” The parade starts at 6:30.
Shields said, in addition to floats and firetrucks, participants will include the South Panola High School Band and SPHS Air Force JROTC cadets.
Lineup for the parade will be along Watt and Park Streets. The parade will proceed down Broadway to the Square, turning right opposite the courthouse and continuing around the lower quadrant by Stubbs and the Polar Express gift shop, then turning back across the railroad track and continuing up Eureka Street, where it will disband.
A dozen trophies will be awarded for the best entries.
