Family of murdered women praises work of Como police

By John Howell
Como town officials and citizens who attended the town’s monthly meeting of its board of mayor and aldermen heard an unusual presentation Tuesday evening from the survivors of a grandmother and granddaughter who were murdered almost a year ago.
“We’re here to acknowledge the Como chief and the police department and such a great job they did for us in the double homicide of Eloise Jackson’s mom, Emma Jackson, and her daughter, Cearea Jackson,” said Brittany Brown Miller who stood during the acknowledgment beside Eloise Jackson.
“Justice has been truly served,” Miller said, reading from a prepared statement.
Quendarius Brejuan Robinson was found guilty in a trial that ended Friday, November 4 with his being sentenced  to two life terms for the November, 27, 2015 murders of his girlfriend, who was the mother of his two children, and her grandmother.
Miller then read a prepared statement from the Jackson and Brown families that expressed appreciation to Police Chief Earl Burdette and the Como Police Department “who played a role in the crime scene and also thank the community for showing all the love and support.”
“We’d like to thank y’all for coming down just to share that,” Mayor Everette Hill said after audience applause subsided. “I share that pain with Eloise and them because her mama was in my house every day.”
“Thank y’all for that,” Burdette replied. “That’s heartfelt, especially from you guys.”
