BJH sweeps Cougars

Cross county neighbors faced off Monday night at Batesville Junior High as the Tiger 8th grade basketball teams took two games from North Panola.
BJH girls 24, NP 8
Chrystal Mayes scored 12 points in leading the Batesville girls to a 24-8 victory over the Lady Cougars. The Lady Tigers led 12-8 at halftime before holding North Panola scoreless in the second half. A. Taylor scored all the Cougar points in the first half.
Melissa Robinson added four points  for Batesville while Nahriah Connor, Alexus Turner, Bailey Ware and Breanna Spencer all chipped in with two points.
BJH (8th) boys-27, NP-25
Tymdarreus Taylor scored eight second-half points as the Tigers held off North Panola. Marques Pryor scored six points including a big three pointer that gave Batesville a 21-20 lead late in the fourth quarter.
J’Tavion Hicks added seven points while Dre’ Moore contributed with two points.
Cedquavius Hunter led all scorers with 11 points for North Panola. Rodrick Taylor registered three points while Steven Ashe added two and Tony Davis scored one point.
