Cub Scouts from Pack 78, their parents and adult leaders fanned out over Batesville Saturday collecting non-perishable food for the Panola Food Pantry. At noon they met at the pantry building and filled seven shopping carts with the largesse from city residents. Meeting them at the pantry is Juanita Jackson (back row, from left). Among scout leaders are (right from Jackson) Justin Unruh, Tony Allen (behind Unruh, John Paul Jenkins and Keith Shedd. There was more to come. Boy Scouts from Troop 478 manned collection stations at Batesville grocery stores, accepting both non-perishable food items and donations. The older boys stayed at their post through part of the afternoon. The Panolian photo by John Howell
