Bill Green

SARAH––Mr. Bill Green, 75, died Monday, October 24, 2016, at his residence.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Crenshaw First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from noon until service time.  Interment will follow at Longtown Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Mr. Green was retired from the State of Mississippi and formerly in the National Guard.

COMO––Lillie Mae Johnson, 90, died Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto.
Services will be held Saturday at noon at Cistern Hill Church in Como. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home in Sardis.
Johnson was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Panola County, to the late Harvey McNeil and Fannie Mae McNeil.

Eddie Earl Otts

HORN LAKE––Eddie Earl Otts, 64, died Friday, October 21, 2016 in Horn Lake.
Services were held Thursday at Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment was at Hinds Chapel Cemetery, Lake Cormorant.
He was a retired farmer and retired sheriff’s deputy of Desoto County.

Ethel “Scoot” Moore

SARDIS––Ethel “Scoot” Moore, 78, died October 25, 2016, at her residence.
Services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Macedonia M.B. Church in Batesville. Pastor Zannie Leland will officiate.
Visitation will be held Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary, who has charge of arrangements. Interment will be held in the church Cemetery.
Moore, born January, 7, 1938, in Sardis, to the late A.Z. Bobo and Rachel Jones Bobo, was a retired cook for Mr. Jiffy Store. She was also a member of Macedonia M.B. Church in Batesville.
Survivors include: two sons, William Henry Moore and A. Z. Moore, both of Batesville; one sister, Louise Wilbourn of Sardis; 11 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Mildred Taylor Mulhall

Mrs. Mildred Taylor Mulhall, 91, of Como, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2016.  She was born in Como, Miss., to the late Fredrick Ward Taylor and Marie Chism Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, at 3:00 p.m. at the Como Methodist Church. Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia has charge of the arrangements.
Mildred attended Como high school and graduated in 1943, with a graduation class of fifteen students.  She would go on to study English Literature at the University of Mississippi, Oxford, and was a member of the Tri Delta sorority.  She graduated in 1947.
In 1950, Mildred moved to New York City where she met her future husband, Gerald Machen Mulhall.  They married in 1951 and lived abroad before settling in Riverside Connecticut in 1967.  They moved to Como Mississippi in 2005 and remained a devoted husband and wife for 63 years.  Her beloved husband Gerald passed away December 25, 2014.
Mildred was an active member of the Como Garden Club, the Community Club and a member of the Como Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Marie Mulhall Roome and her son-in-law Peter Willemse Roome of Portland, Oregon, two sons, William Taylor Mulhall of Stanford, Connecticut and John Gerald Mulhall of Como, Mississippi, two grandchildren, Ashley McQuaide Roome and Courtney Taylor Roome, both of Portland, Oregon.
She was a beloved mother and devoted grandmother who will be missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Como Methodist Church, PO Box 277, Como, Mississippi 38619 or to the Como Friendship Cemetery, c/o Charles Jackson, 11003 Covington Way, Oxford, Mississippi 38655.

Yester Lee Turner

BATESVILLE––Yester Lee Turner, 86, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Merit-Health Hospital.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Second Concord M.B. Church in Batesville. Pastor H.P. Washington will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary, who has charge of arrangements. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
Turner, born July 30, 1930, in Webb, to the late Eddie Brimage and Mary Floyd, was a homemaker and a member of Second Concord M.B. Church where she was also a member of the Mother Board.

Sarah C. Young

CRENSHAW––Sarah C. Young, 89, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at her residence.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Shiloh C.O.G.I.C. in Crenshaw. Visitation will be held today 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.
Young was born Sept. 20, 1927, in Panola County, to the late Martin Young Sr. and Magnolia Lark.
