Sunshine forecast for Saturday car show

Batesville’s 7th Annual Showoff on the Square Open Car Show will be Saturday on the Downtown Batesville Square beginning at 8 a.m.  There will be 120 trophies and $2,000 in cash prizes.  The show is open to all makes and models of cars, trucks, and motorcycles.  The Mississippi Delta Street Rods are in charge of vehicle registration and may be reached at 561-5163.
Merea Ministry’s Crafts Fair will be held at First Baptist Church, within walking distance of the car show, 9-3, with arts and crafts vendors, music and food.
Batesville Exchange Club will kick things off with a Pancake Breakfast at the Batesville Intermediate School Cafeteria from 7 to 10 a.m.  Tickets are $5.
Meanwhile the 1st Community Outreach Ministry Services will sponsor a Voter Registration Drive from 10-5 at the Batesville Courthouse.
Pope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church will host a community celebration for first responders beginning at 4 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 7513 Pope-Crowder Road.
The Mississippi Homemaker Volunteers of Panola County will sponsor a health fair at Cistern Hill Church in Como from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
