SP slowpitch fall in Grenada tournament

South Panola slowpitch softball team fell in Saturday’s Grenada tournament after losing 9-3 against Eupora and 3-1 against East Webster.
In their first matchup, South Panola was unable to produce runs until the final two innings, scoring one run in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
The first score in the fourth came from junior Chloe Morgan on a solo homerun. Lee Todd Ware and Tia Townsend got on base with singles and scored on RBI (run batted in) singles by Nautica Edwards and Sydney Morgan.
East Webster 9, SP 1
In the next game against East Webster, the Lady Tigers scored a single run in the final inning. Chloe Morgan found her way on base with a single to left center and scored on a Madison Morgan RBI single. Kahlena Hentz doubled to put Morgan in scoring position on third.
The Lady Tigers were unable to come back after falling behind eight runs.
The Lady Tigers went for the jugular as they faced Greenville last Thursday and run-ruled the Lady Hornets 21-2.
Sydney Morgan started the game with a double. Morgan Parker and Chloe Morgan made their way on base. They scored on a Caitlyn Seay bases clearing double.
Greenville scored its only two runs in the first inning.
In the second, Tra’Meisha Toliver, Ware and Edwards scored Madison Morgan bases clearing double. The Lady Tigers scored three more runs as Morgan, Parker and Hentz crossed the plate.
The third inning remained scoreless as South Panola went on to score eight more runs in the fourth. The first eight batters of the line up made their way to first from singles and walks.
In the fifth and final inning, the Lady Tigers scored four final runs as Seay hit a two RBI double, driving Chloe Morgan and Hentz home.
Seay and Townsend scored the final two runs of the inning on RBI singles by Taylor Haney and Ware, giving the Lady Tigers the win over Greenville 21-2.
The Lady Tigers will travel to Strayhorn tonight to face the Lady Mustangs at 5 p.m.
