Members of the South Panola rifle team attended the Civilian Marksmanship Summer Rifle Matches last month.
Prior to the match the team worked with collegiate shooters who helped them perfect their shooting skills.
The match was an individual three-position match. Niki Still finished first. Matt Moore finished second. Robert Anderson finished seventh.
Both Stefanie Ramage and Nick Rudd set personal best scores and were among the most improved shooters during the match.
Thirty matches were held over the summer with South Panola competing in the final match. Over 800 shooters competed.
Still was ninth overall and Moore was 15th overall. The team now begins practice the second week of school preparing for the 11-month-long rifle season.
AFJROTC cadets that want to try out for the team can meet after school on Monday, August 15. No prior experience is necessary.
