Marijuana stash found on Ballentine Road

Detective Major Barry Thompson came upon a box of marijuana Thursday after a tip from a utility worker who noticed the large plastic container in the Ballentine Road area.
Among items were bags commercially-labeled “SFV Gorilla Glue,” “Jack Herer” and “Sour D.” Drug Task Force Lieutenant Gray Nickels estimated a street value of $6,000 for the said the stash of apparent high quality marijuana.
Thompson said the location was not suitable to place under surveillance while awaiting the owner’s return, but “at least it was out of the hands of kids” once confiscated.
Thompson turned the stash over to Nickels to catalogue the contents. Both officers did say that anyone missing the stash could contact them at the sheriff’s office.
Posting of the photo on The Panolian Facebook last Thursday had reached almost 25,000 people by Monday and attracted 63 comments, many from viewers who expressed regret at not having found the stash first.
