Burglar targets electronics in house

A Batesville resident who left town during the weekend returned to find his home burglarized and missing over $1,300 worth of electronics items.
The Fisher Street homeowner left Friday at 5 p.m. and returned at 7 p.m. Sunday to discover the home’s front window broken out, according to Batesville Police Department Patrolman Eddie Flores’ report.
Fisher Street is a short, dead end street that intersect with Vaughn Street near Pearson Street.
Items taken in the burglary include a big screen LGHDTV, Playstation 4 Gaming Console, video games and gaming controller, the report states.
Anyone who observed suspicious people are vehicles in the area during the weekend is urged to contact the Batesville Police Department, 662-563-5653.
Patrolman Mark Mills was called to College Street Saturday to speak with a resident who said she had left her wallet at New China Buffet the night before. She contacted the restaurant and employees who searched for the wallet but did not find it, according to the report.
Patrolman Steve McLarty, shortly after midnight Sunday morning, was called to Days Inn to mitigate a domestic dispute that had arisen between a couple over a friend request on Facebook, according to the officer’s report.
The officer stood at the female’s request while she left the premises.
